The differences between the German and Chinese education system could not be bigger. The Chinese society is traditionally strictly structured, emphazising the community more than the individual. The national schools and universities naturally convey every qualification needed for promotion in the existing structures to their students. By focusing on reproduction concepts the traditional education system characterizes learning in China even until today.
In contrast to that the ideal-typical goal of German schools and universities is educating students and pupils to critically reflect their environment. Creativity, capacity for teamwork and application orientation are important factors for success in the education system and the economic life.
We perceive students and graduates from China as the "Missing Link" for a good cooperation between institutions and firms from both cultures. With our education programs we help students from China to meet their own high standards for a successful career in Germany and Europe.
The range of courses of UNIKIMS responds to the demand of international students and graduates from Chinese universities and colleges, who want to continue their studies with a practice-oriented semester after their first degree in their home country. Because of the additional qualification, which includes professional and practical knowledge contents, graduates have better career perspectives - not only in Germany but also on the international labour market. Along with courses about current social topics, the program conveys cultural and specialized contents (e.g. history, politics, economy, justice, demography, culture and education, health and media).
In the same way UNIKIMS reacts to the requests of international students and alumni, who are planning a work or study stay in China. In special classes about history, culture and comunication the participants acquire basic knowledge about the Chinese language and lifestyle. The preparation seminar for the study in China offers an additional training for successful intercultural exchange.
